Hi, Joe!

My father is Francis Keaney (Frank) from Toothfield, Manorhamilton - just down the road from Glenfarne. He's the son of Hugh and Mary (nee McGuinness) Keaney. He says he knew a John Joe Keaney from Glenfarne (which may be your uncle) and thinks he used to have a little grocery store on the road to Glenfarne from Manorhamilton. Is that your family?

My father's sister Kitty Keaney married another Frank Keany (spelled with no e) from Glenfarne. Uncle Frank passed away in 1992 but my aunt Kitty still lives in Glenfarne. Until about a year ago, Kitty and my cousins ran one of the two pubs in Glenfarne.

Where do you live now? Did your father emigrate from Glenfarne?

All the best,

Maura Keaney
