Jane Scott and Thomas Kearbey, NC/MO

Have information that the Thomas Kerby/Kearbey who married Jane Scott may be the son of Jesse Kerby of Stokes Co., NC. Jesse Kerby married Elizabeth East in NC and they had the following children: Thomas Kerby, Pleasant T. Kerby, Mary "Polly Kerby, Elizabeth D. Kerby, Nancy Kerby, and Drucilla Kerby. Jesse Kerby died in 1816 and Elizabeth East Kerby died in 1836, both in Stokes Co., NC. There was a suit in 1840 against Pleasant Kerby regarding a slave named Littleton who previously had belonged to Thomas Kerby. It was stated that Thomas Kerby had sold the slave to Stephen Scott. Thomas Kerby disappeared from Stokes Co., NC between 1830 and 1840. I believe (hope) this is the same Thomas Kerby who moved to Butler Co., MO.
