For the past 25 years I've been searching for the parents of John Kears. He was born in 1824 in the area of Hamilton Twp which at that time was in Gloucester County New Jersey.
He married Rebecca Bartlett May 13, 1848 in Atlantic County.
He moved to Millville in Cumberland County between 1860 and 1866. He had 4 children:
Julia b. Mar 14, 1849, she married George Williams March 5, 1866 in Millville.
Henrietta b. 1853, married Andrew Bard June 13,1872.
Charles Pitman b. June 23, 1860 in Weymouth, he married Anna Thomas.
John Wesley b.April 12, 1866 in Millville, he married Ella Garrison on April 16, 1887; he died July 31,1955.
John Kears' wife Rebecca died June 27, 1885, at their home on Sharp Street in Millville, and she is buried in Mt.Pleasant Cemetery.
John died on Nov.16, 1896,in Hopewell Twp in Cumberland County at the "Alms House". On his death certificate the spaces for his parents names were left blank. At the time of his marriage in 1848, the names of the parents weren't listed. I have been collecting information on the Kears name for 25 years, which I will gladly share with anyone. Any help would be appreciated.
