Could be a connection. The earliest date of birth of my William would be 1870 and in that area. There appears to have been a lot of Kearsleys in the armed forces at this time. I have a Richard Kearsley who was stationed in Dublin in 1829 whilst in the foot gaurds. I don't know what kind of duty he was doing there but it seems a coincidence.I will quiz my grandfather more.
