see earlier messages by me .Thomas kearsley born 1792 was Father of Richard Kearsley born 29 th January 1808. He was a coporal in the Kings company in 1829 and spent time in Dublin and ended up in London during his service. It is possible that he was Father to James/John Kearsley who was born around 1849 in the London area. His mother Sarah is listed as next of kin in his account book.There appears to have been several brothers,sisters,nephews and nieces who travelled around or where in the forces.
Back to Manchester (see message about Kearsley of Ripon)There was an engineering firm of this name trading still around the 1920/30's and had been for some time. They were also in the forces and held civic positions. I have a lot of info on the company and its directors if anyone is interested. A lot of Kearsleys appeared to have travelled south to London for one reason or another and ended up in and around Salt Lake City U.S.A. A good place to track descendents as the Mormon faith is heavily envolved in Family history records and I did find Kearsleys dating bach to the Doomsday book.
