I appreciate it has been some time since this post.
I have a grandfather called Ronald Kearsley who was born in Dinnington.
Sadly he died in circa 1952, but I know that he was captured at Dunkirk during WW2, spending the war in a POW camp. He subsequently went on to fight in Korea.
He married my granmother, freda bithell after the war and had one son, my father, Frederick Kearsley in 1947.
I have attempted to uncover some info about him in the past but have come up with nothing.
I know that he worked as a miner before the war, and at Radcliffe paper mill when he finally de-mobbed.
He is buried at Radcliffe parish church, greater manchester in an unmarked grave.
