I replied to wrong msg first. My Elisabeth Cuthbert was christened 10 Sep 1827 Perth to John Cuthbert and Ann Taylor (Ann was second wife as John was widowed about 1826). These two then had Elisabeth (1827), Helen (1829) and Isabell (1832). Helen died unmarried in 1853 in Dundee according to MI data supplied by another researcher. I've never been able to locate other marriage or death info on Elisabeth or Isabell. And again, I suppose it's unlikely that Elisabeth and Betsy are one and the same. WE ought to try finding Betsy's death cert. which should give her parentage to help sort this out. As to derivation of Cuthbert, I don't know anything myself - could be St. Cuthbert I suppose. Dave
