Hi-

I'm not going to be of much help, as I haven't been able to find much myself on my great-grandmother, Ella Keay Carter.
You might check the Guysborough County NS genweb listings- there is at least one person researching "Keay". I believe her father was the Michael "Key" lost overboard from the fishing boat M L Wetherall out of Gloucester in 1871. I have a picture of him, but no idea of his family.
