He is probably not one of my ancestors.
The full entry in the Montose Parish Register for 21 Dec 1834 was
"William Kay, plasterer of this parish and Mary Ann Smith of Lawrence Kirk proclaimed in order to marriage and no objection offered"
I see in the IGI that the bann's were also read for William Key and Mary Ann Smith on 7 Dec 1834 at Laurencekirk, Kincardine.
