Jerry, I may have some information about your James Thomas Keele. I have been researching Rev. Abraham M. Keele/Keel and think it is possible James Thomas is Abraham's brother.
I found James Thomas living in Greene Co. AR. in 1860 with a young wife and two daughters. He served in the Confederate Army from Greene Co. AR. and then moved up to Cape Girardeau Co. MO. and was there in 1870.
