I HAVE HIT A BRICK WALL. My Keelin's (also spelled Keeland, Keelan) are as follows...
In the 1870 Jefferson County, IL census shows the household of a Melissa E. Keelin b@1837 TN
her kids were:
James G Keelin b@1859 KY
Mary E. Keelin b@ 1862 KY
Malinda Elizabeth b@1867 KY
Family legend has it that Melissa's hubby worked on a boat and his name was supposedly "Henry"--now, when she was pregnant w/ the youngest, Malinda, Henry either disappears or runs off, so she calls her youngest daughter "Henry" after her dad even tho her name was Malinda...
I have no idea what Melissa's maiden name was or why she moved to IL...or where in KY or TN these folks were from...if anyone has any of these folks please email me.
