I have an E.J. that married John T. Buckhanan and lived in Madison Co. Arkansas. In the 1860 Madison County census a Carlton age 64, Charlotte age 60, Jesse age 40, Harlin age 20 and Laura age 18 are living with E.J. and John and their children. We always assumed that E.J. was a Keeling and that Jesse was her father, Harlin a brother, and Carlton and Charlotte her grandparents. Well, this is not correct as their E.J. was Eliza Jane and she married someone else. What makes this interesting is the fact that my E.J. is suppose to be Indian as well. Her daughter my gg grandmother is definitely Indian looking in her pictures but we have never been able to find out E.J.'s last name and the court house burned twice so no marriage lisence either. I do know some of the other Keelings were in Springtown, Texas where John Buckhanan's mother died so some how I have a feeling somewhere they are connected. There are also Buchanan's in Washington Co. and can't connect them as well. Maybe we can help each other. Hope I haven't confused you.
