Curtis,
The OLIVER family you are seeking per Houston Co. TX records is kin to my KEELS family via Huldy Keels that married an Oliver. My ggm Hester Ann (Keels) Wright was a younger sister of Isaac J. Keels per the sworn statement of Isaac Keel's daughter Huldy (KEELS) OLIVER. The affidavit is in the Hester Ann (Keels) Wright's Civil War Pension Application filed in the Texas Archives in Austin, TX. Her husband was captured at Gettys burg and died as a POW. I have traced KEELS families back from Trinity & Houston Co. TX to Henry Co. AL and earlier in Sumter Co. SC. In 1850 there were several OLIVER families in Barbour Co. AL just above Henry Co AL. I also found OLIVERs in nearby Dale & Pike Co. AL

It may be that the Keels/Oliver marriage occured in Henry Co. AL as that is where the bride lived but it could be in Barbour, Dale of Pike Co.

I live in Fort Worth but will soon move to a retirement center. I hope to keep the same e-mail address wbehill@earthlink.net . If you will e-mail me, I can probably help you find other information. I believe that I have the first name of Huldy's husband but with the packing confusion, I can not locate it easily.

Emma Hill
