Hi Sara Rose,
You are asking a very tough question. If tou go back to the Keely Family Forum Page and type IRELAND in the box that says "Search this forum".you will find messages that mention Keely families from Germany as well as several places in Ireland. I have a cousin from Ireland who tells me that the family of Jean Claude Keely, a famous French skier, immigrated to France from near Kilchreest, County Galway in Ireland, so that's 3 different countries where you might find people with the family name of Keely.
My great grandmother Anne Keely was born around 1848 near Kilchreest, County Galway in Ireland, which means she was a baby during the Irish Potato Famine. Her father Patrick Keely was a farmer in Ballynagrieve, near Kilchreest.Anne married my great grand father John Cormican in 1867 and my grand mother Mary Cormican immigrated to Brooklyn New York around 1900.
If your Keely family came to the US in the last half of the 1800's or a little later then there is a good chance they came from Ireland because millions of Irish immigrated in those years.
