John --
My notes do not confirm that Browns actually accompanied Spurlocks to Ms in ca 1808 or earlier.
Here is what I do have.
Taxed ub Oglethorpe County, Ga in 1796 through 1801 were these men : James "Keeth", Gilbert Keen/Cain, James Spurlock, James Keith, In each case, the land taxed adjoined land of William Brown,
The original owners of the land taxed was respectively David Allen, Gilbert Keen, Massey Keen(Cain?), last not given.
William Brown was taxed in 1798 adjoining Gilbert Keen on land originally owned by Benjamin Allen.
I believe Keen/Cain was the same family.
Once we get to Ms, I have only thius one reference for Brown.
Mary Spurlock, daughterr of the above Allen Spurlock. married (1) Henry Jones (2) Edwaed S. BROWN after 1835
Other children of Allen married Winbourn(2), Garner (2),
Hunt, Russell, possibly Robi,son.
I have had no reason to research the Brown familu. These are only notes I have for my Spurlock research.
