I believe that I have found the answer to my question. There were 2 Keen families in Young Co TX on the 1900 census that the fathers would have been old enough to have a wife and take a child in to raise. William Keen had been in Young Co to long to have been McLennan Co TX in 1883. Marion Jacob Keen fits perfectly. He had a family by the time he drove his herd of cattle to the mid area of TX in 1878; then in 1884 he drove his herd to Young Co TX. It was in 1899 that Catherine Elizabeth Bumpass AKA Magnolia Ann Keen married William E. Huffman a life long resident of Young Co. That was also about the time that she learned her true bio birth data. I suspect that when she started using her real name that the Keen family became upset with her over that. There had not been any formal adoption in 1883 so she therefore could do as she pleased when she became 18. In 1900 & 1910 she was still a resident of Young Co but on the 1920 census she was living in neighboring Jack Co TX two dwellings from her bio older sister. It appears that she did not have much contact with the Keen family in heer adult life.
