Keena Family Genealogy Forum

My mother is the former Amelia Keena, born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1918. Her father was John Ignatius Keena, the youngest of (I believe) 3 brothers. He was born in the US of an Irish family, and returned to Ireland, where he married my Kelly grandmother. The family (parents, my mother, two sisters and a brother) emigrated to the US in 1928. They did not go through Ellis Island - Mom's father had dual citizenship. A second brother was born in the US.
I know that my mother had uncles (presumably her father's two brothers) in this country. I believe there's a branch of the family in Detroit. Our family was in New Jersey for most of the 20th century. There are a bunch of us now in the south - from Virginia to North Carolina and elsewhere. All 5 siblings are still alive, although my mom, the eldest, is very ill and frail. If you are a Keena of this family, you have a whopping pile of cousins.
