Lawrence T. Keenan, 1829-1890, Breckinridge County, KY

Lawrence T. Keenan was a member of Co. A, 8th Kentucky Cavalry Regiment, Union. He was a private upon conscription and also upon his discharge date. [See: At Ancestry.com, U.S., Civil War Draft Registration Records, 1863-1865.] He was a farrier. He entered service in July of 1863 at age 35 years and mustered out September 23, 1863, at Lebanon, Kentucky. It was likely that the only action this unit may have seen was: Operations against Morgan's Men (July 2-26), Buffington's Island, Ohio (July 19). He was buried on his farm in the family cemetery near Tar Fork, Breckinridge County, Kentucky.
