THOMAS KEENE of ISLE OF KENT, MD & NORTHUMBERLAND CO., VA
Posted by: Betty Clingman (ID *****6480) Date: April 11, 2009 at 19:56:14
  of 1582

Hello to all my distant cousins, fellow descendants of Thomas KEENE (ca. 1593-1652/53) and Mary ___ (possibly Thorley):

My ancestral line is Thomas KEENE > William KEENE (1641/2-1683/4) who married Ellin ROGERS > John KEENE (1671-1740) who married Elizabeth OLIVER > Elizabeth KEENE (1715-1784) who married Edgecomb SUGGETT. From that point, I have one line coming from Elizabeth and Edgecomb's son, Edgecomb SUGGETT (ca. 1742-1800) who married 1. Constance EDMONDSON and 2. Molly JONES (the second wife in my line) and I have two lines coming from Elizabeth and Edgecomb's daughter, Sarah SUGGETT (1751-1845) who married John JONES.

I will be spending 11 days in London next month and plan to devote as much time as possible trying to either prove or disprove the connection between our known ancestor, Thomas KEENE of Isle of Kent, MD and Northumberland Co., VA and Thomas KEENE and Elizabeth GOSNOLD of Suffolk Co., England. I will search for a birth record for our Thomas in Suffolk County or elsewhere as well as for the will of Thomas KEENE and/or Elizabeth Gosnold KEENE. Wouldn't it be nice to know one way or the other? If he is not their son, we can all start searching for his real parents.

If any of you have any information that might help me, I would love to hear from you. If you prefer, you can email me directly at bj213@bellsouth.net

Thanks!
