Was Pres. of New York Central for 6 mo. in 1866 (followed by Commodore Vanderbilt). For last year of his life (6/68--7/69) he was pres. of Chicago and Northwestern RR / controlling manager of North Indian RR / pres. of Cleveland & Toledo RR. "He was a temperate, moral & prudent man." Married Emma Woodruff of Watertown, NY. Yes, he lived in NYC. He was also a member of the NY Stock Exchange.
