Well as I said I have only recently discovered Percy in my mother's family tree.
Percy William Keep and my grandmother Elsie Eveline Jane Fletcher, married on the 1st June 1914 in Steventon, then Berkshire.
My grandmother only spoke to me once about him and then called him William and my mother, her first born from her second marriage to Donald Robert Sullivan from Reading knew of him as William. It was only a week or so ago that I found their marriage registration of 1837online and discovered his name was Percy.
She just told me that she had been married before she married my grandfather and 'William' had died in 1918.
He was really the love of her life despite her second marriage and she always refused to put his photograph away.
She died in 1982 in her 91st year. There were no children from her first marriage. There is nothing else I know sadly - I just wish she had talked more about him or that I had asked the appropriate questions.
Many thanks for replying.
