Thank you Ben Callahan for you information on my great grandfather Christopeher Mills Keeter. He was referred to as only C.M. Keeter by my living relatives, as he is listed on his head stone in the Keeter Cemetery in Elbert Texas. Apparently, Elbert Texas is named after his father Elbert Benson Keeter. I feel sure that CM and Christopher Mills are the same man now. Also, I'am interested in any information that you might have on a Aunt that passed away at Throckmorton. Her name was Marcena Keeter, and apparently was never married. Best I recall she passed away in the late 1970's or very early 1980's. She was a very intelligent lady, she taught school, and also oil painted,I now have a beautiful painting that she did one summer when she went to Colorado. I was forunate to have purchased at her estate's sale. She use to talk about her life and travels, wish now I had taken notes. She use to tell me stories of how her family lived in a hut before their beautiful two story home was constructed in Elbert. ( That home was sold at the estate sale, and now sits about 2 miles east of Olney Texas. It was restored, and someone published an article on it during the 1980's.) I'am interested in the Throckmorton County Keeter's, since that is where I grew up. Thank you so much for the information. Elbert of course, is on the East side of Throckmorton County. Sincerely, Katherine Keeter Boyd
