I checked my info and found that the listing for James Keeter & Rachael Geer taken directly from Rutherford Co. records has no actual date recorded. It has been a long time since I did that research but I seem to remember the date coming from a book at the UNC-Library and not an original source.
In looking at the info on the family info again, I note that the 1810 census listed one female <10 in the household and the 1820 census listed two females <10 and one male 10/16. Based on the 1810 census, the male appears not to be a child of James and Rachel but the two females in the 1820 census appear to be Susanna and Elizabeth. The female in the 1810 census could be Susanna who was born cir 1810, or it could be Harriet for which I have no date.
At any rate, given the dob's of the children, a marriage date of 1809 seems more likely. I will try to recheck the UNC Library and see what I turn up.
