Greetings! Thank you very much for the information. Below is a copy of his military record from Jordan's Roster of North Carolina Troops.

Keever, Jacob A. Private
Resided in Alexandre County and enlisted in Company G, 37th North Carolina Troops in Iredell County at age 34 on August 8, 1862. Mustered in as a corporal. Wounded in the side at Fredericksburg, VA., on December 13, 1862. Reuced to the ranks on August 1, 1863. Returned to duty in Sept.-Oct., 1863. Captured at or near Fort Steadman, VA, March 25, 1865. Confined at Point Lookout, MD., until released on June 28, 1865, after taking the Oath of Allegiance.
