Hello Mary and Denis.

Just wanted to encourage you to continue to post when you're back.(Mary) I've corresponded with Theresa over the years too. I don't think we've ever confirmed a connection, but my intuition strongly suspects one.

My branch emigrated in 1848, from Oulart Parish, which is in the northern part of Wexford County. (Michael, Margaret and children - but all grown children). They settled north of Belleville, Ontario (about the middle of southern Ontario)

Over the years, many of the descendants moved further... to Michigan (lots of them) and a few continued on through Wisconsin, Minnesota, etc. Common belief is just that they were following the leading edge of the lumber business, but family connections in conjunction with that makes even more sense.

Whether you find a positive connection or not, we should just get busy and do the genetic testing I suppose. At least then we'd know whether we're "barking up the right tree" (or not). Bon voyage & Good Luck.

Dennis Kehoe (Toronto)
