I'm looking for information about the families of Patrick and Ellen Kelly Kehoe. I believe they came from Ireland to America together, but I don't know that for sure - arriving sometime in the early 1850's.
Patrick Kehoe was born March 1823 in Ireland; Ellen, 1825 in Ireland. They first settled in Brooklyn, NY, where they were married. By the time their first child was born, they were living in Iowa as Ellen returned to Brooklyn for his birth. This would indicate that they still had family in Brooklyn at this time.
They had ten children total: John Clement, b: 14 Jan 1855, Brooklyn, NY; Michael, b: 28 May 1856, Iowa; Edward P., b: 12 Jul 1859, Iowa; William Henry, b: 1861 in Iowa; Mary Ellen, b: 1863, Iowa; Margaret Winifred, b: 1865, Iowa; Anna Julia, b: 1867, Iowa; Catherine V., b: 1869, Iowa; Cecilia Theresa, b: 1871, Iowa; and James Joseph, b: 1875 in Iowa.
The 1860 US Census shows them living in Dubuque Township, Dubuque Co, IA, with sons John C (age 5) and Edward (age 1).
Any information you may have that will help me further my research for Patrick and Ellen's families or ancestors would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
