FATAL AFFRAY at SONORA -- It has been reported here that the immediate cause of the quarrel between D.O. McCARTHY and John KEIGER was offensive and outrageous language used by KEIGER on the day the rencontre took place, about McCARTHY and his family. When the news of this scandalous language came to the ears of Mr. McCARTHY he at once went to KEIGER and demanded an explanation. Report says that KEIGER, so far from giving a satisfactory explanation, made an attempt to draw a pistol, when a brief scuffle ensued, which terminated in McCARTHY's shooting his adversary dead. All persons well acquainted with Mr. McCARTHY do him the honor to say that while he is as brave as a lion, he is the last man to seek a quarrel.
