Nathalie,
I have this note from GenForum in 1999:
"Myra (Freeman) COFFEY died 15 Oct 1877, wife of Eligah, and was buried in Wayne Co.,KY. Eligah then reared his three children alone until the year of 1881, when on 29 Apr 1881 he married Miss Jane Keith, of Wayne Co.,KY. Jane was born 8 Dec 1863, and was the daughter of Jabe and Hallie KEITH, who were Cherokee Indians. To Eligah and Jane were born 8 children: Edward Cullem (1881-1966), James Harden (1883-1942), Joel Joseph (1885-1953), Nannie Sophie (1887-?), Mary Lucy Annie (1889-1972), Roxie Amanda (1893-1920), Sally Kate (1895-?), Eligah Henry (1897-?). Jane (Keith) COFFEY died 6 Dec 1897 of childbirth, and is buried in the Ingram Cem. Eligah Coffey died 16 Feb 1915, and is also buried in the Ingram Cem."
I suspect the KEITH girl in question is probably Vina Jane (b. 1863), daughter of Joshua KEETH [possibly Josiah] KEETH (b. ca 1822, KY) m. 24 Nov 1849 to Elizabeth WILSON, Wayne Co., KY. "Jabe" and "Hallie" sound like nicknames. In my records there are about 4 KEITH/COFFEY marriages....none of them being native Americans so far as can be told.
