Rev. James Keith of Bridgewater, MA
Recently I wenting looking for more information about Rev. James Keith born about 1643/44 in Scotland. I eneded up at familysearch.com and found not just a few things wrong but quite a lot of items wrong. One posting said that Mary Macy was his mother. Mary Macey was the widow of Thomas Williams who married Keith in 1707. Another listing said that Susanna Orcutt was his wife when she was Susanna Edson's mother. Susanna Edson was his first wife who he married in 1668 in Massachusetts. There was a few other's and looking at the listings, for the most part did not give a source.
This is what I know.Rev. James Keith was born in Scotland abt. 1643/44. He went to school in Aberdeen. His father was a Robert Keith. Mother is still unknown. He emigrated to the US in 1662. He took his oath for being a minister abt. 1664 in Massachusetts. He married Susanna Edson in 1668 and they had many children. He married the widow Williams in 1707.
So if anyone has further information, I would appreciate it.
