John, are you sure about that Kelly/Kelling connection? I doubt that it could be proven but it would be fascinating to know where the story originated. I have Irish Kelly ancestors as well. Also Anglo-Irish Kellett ancestors. Re Holstein, did you know there is a town in Schleswig Holstein called Kelling? A-huh. And, it seems to have a website. Check out the pics. My Kellings come from Saxony, early 19th century Hornburg, and I'm tossing up at the moment whether to invest a few hard earned dollars into a researcher. I have a good one in a town 10 kms away who has provided genealogies on related families back to about 1680.
