Thanks for this info on German immigrants. I'm glad to see so many people are researching the Kelling name. For a while I couldn't find it anywhere. Did learn that my husband's GGG Grandmother was Dorothea Kelling who immigrated to Newark, NJ in the 1850s. It appears she travelled alone and was 21 at the time. She married within a few months of arriving. I will try to remember to let you know where in Germany she was from. I have the name of a source book that incudes her records - just have to find what library has it and make time to get there. I agree the outside is calling now that spring is here, research will be harder to get to. Regards to you.
