OK, I've got the Jochim Kelling to USA (Davenport Iowa was destination) from Germany, - via Hamburg in 1854;
they go back to Warnkenhagen, I have a marriage in 1650 (don't have my notes at hand) & the records began in ? 1648.... "Our line comes from Elmenhorst, Damshagen, Warnkenhagen, Hohnen-Schönburg, Kalkhorst: these towns very near to one another....these were in Mecklenburg & if you have a good map, they are just east of Lübeck & Travemünde (they are nearly on the sea...
