HI,

The present-day name of Kellner, Texas is Brookshire. It is 40 miles west of Houston on I10 squished between Katy and Sealy. The official name with the state is still Kellner but the post office was run by the Brookshire family (no relation to the grocery chain). If you wanted a letter delivered you addressed it to Brookshire. The name stuck. There is a plaque from the State Historical society honoring the name Kellner on site. The descendents still live there just yards from the plaque.
