My family history shows relatives in both Austria and Czechoslovakia. My great-grand father came to the USA in 1904 and he was a strick catholic. He is buried in the catholic cemetry at his church. However, near the end of WWII, my relatives were forced to leave Czechoslovkia and before being allowed into Germany and Austria they had to prove they were not Jewish.
