Hi Val & Brenda

I have a Robert Kellow and a William Kellow who I believe are sons of James Kellow and Honor Rundle. I am going to copy an email that I got from a grandson of William Kellow who grew up in Pen Argyl.

Here is summary of bio info I have on Robert(1836-1914) Very limited education. At 12 yrs began working in slate quarry.(I assume the big Delabole quarry). In 1857 at 21 yrs came to Pen Argyl to work in one of two quarries at that time and just 75 residents in Pen Argyl. In 1878 he bought a quarry, sold it in 1894, year of my fathers birth to John Carter and Margaret Jenkin. Robert lived in retirement until his death in 1914. As you can see Robt did very well financially between 1857 and 1878 . He had a nice house built, now owned by widow of my cousin. He also had a big cemetery plot with a very large center monument where He and Eliz (1893), my grandparents, my parents and sister are buried.

Brenda, do you think that Robert could be the Robert mentioned in your 2006 posting? Robert had a brother Moses born in 1828. I have not been able to find any information on him.

Also, have correspondence between Margaret Jenkin and a nephew of Robert where a Will Kellow is mentioned. The only information I can find is a 1900 US Census which lists a William Kellow with a birthday of 1839. Does he fit in with any of the people you have?

Let me know what you think.

Do you have any pictures? I have a tintype picture of five men. I think one of them is Robert based on other pictures I have.
