Minot's First Wedding
The First wedding in Minot N.D at which the bride was dressed all on white took place in the Old St. Leo's Church 58 years ago Friday.In that most elaborate church meeting that Minoters had wittnessed up to that time,Mary Ann Evelyn Botz became the bride of Charles Kelly and Father Kauer officiated.The bride of that day Jan.10 1900,still lives in Minot and she is now 82 years old.A Widow since 1939 she has her own home and does her own house work and thanks the lord daily for a good life .Mrs Mary Kelly recalls with pride that she wore white silk and satin and embroidered chiffon and carried a bouqet of artifical Blossoms.Everbody said i was the first bride in Minot to be dressed all in white,she remarks,and if I do say so myself,it was a nice wedding. Up to and after the time of her marriage ,Mrs Kelly was one of the faithful members of St Leo's choir.She mothered 10 children of whom seven are living today
