Amy KELSY, Huntington, NY 1766-d aft 1850
Posted by: Holly Tooker (ID *****5945) Date: June 30, 2013 at 10:28:27

I have a deed from 1827 in which Amy KELSY of Huntington, Suffolk, NY sold land to Amos TOOKER also of Huntington for $1. That indicates to me that they are relatives and I aim to find out how they were related.

I do know that Amos and his brother,Ezra, my ancestor, were sons of Abijah TOOKER Jr and wife Elizabeth ELDRIDGE. Abijah Jr's parents were Abijah Sr and his wife Amy, surname unknown. Abijah Sr died intestate in 1809, leaving wife Amy as executrix of his estate.

Could the widow Amy TOOKER have remarried and did she deed land to her grandson, Amos? When that deed was executed, younger brother Ezra was still a minor, but Amos would have been 23.

I'd be grateful for any ideas on how to ferret this info out.
