Les Kelton was my uncle ie. my mother's brother & I remember him building this house. He made all the bricks by hand, much of the time on his own. THis was the second home he built in Wantigong St, the other a red brick dwelling about a block away.
It WAS built for his mother, Edith Freebody was his sister. For some reason Les & his wife, Mearle, left on the back of a motorbike with their belongings in an overnight bag to settle in Wagga Wagga & ultimately build another home.
Edith is the only surviving member of this family, She had no children. Les had two children, a son Bruce who died at about 10yrs in the early 1960's & a daughter who still lives. Mearl is ill with athritis.
I would be pleased to take a photo & Email it to you if you care to send your details.
