Can anybody help with a William KELTON(and possibly a wife Margaret) who came out to South Australia, probably via the eastern states, from the US around 1843 (plus or minus a few years)? William may not have spent very long in the US, or he might have been the product of one or more generations there. His extended family may have come from around Dumphries in Scotland, but there again they may not have! Family tradition has it that he came out from the US, and there were possible married connections (the LINDSAY family) there in the 1850's.
I am trying to establish whether he is connected to another Kelton family in Australia that I know came from Dumphries.
