In your research for Clement Draper, do you have any clues to his father or paternal family? One of the Draper lines of London descend from the Farmer family of Great Marlow, in Buckingham Co. England. This line includes the 16th & 17th century Drapers of Islington, Stroud Green and Clerkenwell in Ossulton Hundred of Middlesex, as well as Jasper Draper of Wallbrook Ward, London, and Sir Thomas Draper of Sunninghill, Berkshire. I'm not sure which Draper married into the Farmer line, but suspect that it was John Draper of London who was married to Margaret/Margarey. John died c1576 and Margaret died many years later. My inclination is that Margaret was the Farmer connection. In Berkshire and Buckingham the Draper family's records sometimes use "Draper alias Farmer," but I have not found it listed that way in London. (At this time the Farmers were well known as recusants so using the name may not have been politically correct.)

My best proof about the connection between the Farmers and this line of Drapers of London comes from discoverying that the Drapers of London used the Farmer coat-of-arms of Great Marlow. All they did to make it theirs was add a band of ermine and change the fleurs-de-lis from blue to black.

My real reason for trying to find Clement's lineage, is because of his son-in-law Abraham Peirsey. My Farmer ancestor who went to America in 1616 had numerous contacts with Peirsey. When they first went to America they went together. In America they lived in the same location and dealt with the same people. My ancestor's later generations lived at Peirsey's first landholdings near Bermuda Hundred, Va. Proving that Peirsey's wife was at a cousin to my ancestory would be very helpful in doing my genealogy.

If you have any ideas at all, please let me know. Any help is greatly appreciated.
