Shirley, I obtained all of my KEMP info. from "History of Smith Co.,TN."(one of those County Hx.Books that have all the fx. bios...)
It had BURRELL P.KEMP SR b VA married Nancy FOSTER bef 1790-died 1827. with ch.
(1)Solomon b1790NC (2)Burrell JR (3)Wm.M.
(4)Emanuel (5)Nancy (6)Rebecca"Betsy" b1811 m Smith GREGORY (7)Minerva (8)fe
(9)fe
Further said that Solomon m1 Judy & m2 Hannah(both surnames unknown).Ch.
(1)Ausley m Peggy JONES
(2)Wylie b 1829 m Elizabeth GREGORY, d/o Smith Gregory. Wylie & Eliz.Gregory Kemp had son, "Willie"(William?) (don't have his wf) & had son, Wylie m Betsy JONES.
I sincerely hope I didn't get this copied
incorrectly! I got started on this KEMP fx. in search of Harvey A. Gregory,b1820 Smith Co.,TN. Harvey appears to be a common given name in the KEMP family. Also the given name, Minerva appears to run in the KEMP line. My Harvey A. Gregory had dtr., Minerva...
I found that I have a copy of some of this information, & if you want, will look at it more closely & get back with you.Jesse may be in this & I just didn't note same!
Have just learned on the GREGORY surname forum that my Harvey A. GREGORY was s/o the SMITH GREGORY of Wash.Co.KY! That really threw me a curve...as I just had assumed that he was "of" the Smith Co.,TN
Gregorys & "possibly" of the Smith Gregory fx that married into the Kemp family!
Let me know if I can help you further.
