When I located ? Kemp grave next to a Church in an above grown grave, I was only looking for McClellan graves 10 plus years ago and only recently relized of my Kemp connection. I lost all my pictures due to a virus on my computer. Page 193/F218/219 in Screven Co. history explains what I'm talking about.Daniel Kemp the father of Harriett Kemp (my William McClellan wife)died in child birth est. 1821/22 in Screven Co.Ga. I'm thinking the grave I saw was her Grand father Solomon Kemp or Daniel Florida who died in Duval Co.Fl.( see page 192 F219)I do not know where he is buried. I know he had family in Decator County,Georgia as his will was sent their.
My G grand father was named Daniel, I assume after Daniel Kemp. He was born 1855 in Nassau co. Fl.Daniel Kemp had land or was in timber bussness in Camden and Nassau Co. Ga., maybe Duval Co. Fl. If you read F218 and F219 in Screven co. History it explains my Kemp/McClellan from Screven Co. connection. So, the grave next to her was her grand or Great Grand father, I would assume.Cecil
