Barry....I just opened your message and thought I would get with you about Sanford. Where did you get the name "Eugene" from? I have found only one reference with that name and it was from one of my contacts. Sanford was my g-g-g grandfather. He died in Lawrenceville, Georgia on Oct.16,1916. Where he is buried is still a mystery to me. He is not buried in the Kemp Family Cemetery. I have the original picture that you posted and a few other old pictures that may or my not be identified.
I was not aware of Sanford's military service prior to his enlistment in the 9th Artillery. I have quite a bit of info on him.
