An excellent way to determine relationships with other families is to do a ydna test. You qualify as a male who carries the name. My line is also from Virginia, but there are several lines there. It will help future generations to find their families as well. Andrew has a posting on the testing recently. We chose familytree because the database is so large, but like Cheryl, I urge everyone to share results on Y search. I found a cousin in CA through that venue, so it can work.
