My research has recently turned up a possible Kenan/Kennan conection that I would love to verify. My mother is a Rich of Magnolia, NC Duplin COunty. Her great grandparents were Willam C Rich and Susannah Waterman also of Magnolia. The family remained in the same area for several generations. It is possible that William's mother was a Kenan. William was brother or half brother of Lott Rich,Isham Rich, sons of Joshua. Joshua married apparently more than once, possibly three times. The mormom web site provided me a pairing of Joshua Rich and a MS. Keenan., Duplin COunty, NC. In the land index for Sampson county, NC I found a land record of Deed transfer from Richard Kennan to Joshua Rich. These two clues have led me on a search for the unknown Ms. Keenan who may have married my ggggrandfather, Joshua Rich of Duplin County, NC. Is there a record of a Kenan famale who married a Joshua Rich with possible issue William C. Rich? My mother is curently very ill and in the hospital, and I have tried to research her roots for some time. She is excited about the Kenan connection and is familiar with the importance of the Kenan family in Duplin COunty, NC and Kenansville. She is thrilled at the possible family connection and I would love to provide her with more factual information on these possible roots during her lifetime. Thanks, Betty Raynor-Davis
