Mary,
Three Kenan brothers came from Ireland into the port of Wimlington, NC shortly after 1730. They made their homes inland from this port. The Kenan family has continued to make their homes in this area of North Carolina. Several Kenan family members made their homes in Wilmington. Possibly the spelling of the Kenan name changed for some. Do you have names of specific family members and dates?
