Hello Walt,
Do not know if this is the same person, but in THE DEMOCRAT news paper in New Castle, PA dated May 10, 1888 had this article on RECENT DEATHS.

"The body of JAMES KENNA, who died in Pittsburgh one day last week, was brought here on the 1st and buried from the residence of his brother Joseph in Croton. The services were held in St. Mary's church and were well attended."

In my search for Kenna relatives while in NewCastle PA last year I photo copied this news paper notice along with many others in hopes that some day I would find that they were all related. So far I have not been able to put James with our family. It was the name Joseph that drew me to the article.

If it helps you might contact St. Mary's in regards to this death and see if you can obtain more information on James, to see if he is one and the same you are looking for.

Good hunting. Gloria (Ponder) Kenna
