LtCol Terrance J Kennedy-Auburn NY b1820
On a monument at the Fort Hill Cemetary in Auburn NY,(looked like a bunker and was build into the side of a hill):
"Lt. Col. Terrance J Kennedy, born in Saratoga Springs, October 13, 1820, was the first man in the United States to offer his services as a soldier for the Union, and the rebellion of 1861; served faithfully four years in the Army. As Captain of Co. B. 19 (NY Vol. Inf.)Capt of 1st NY Independant, NY Light Battery as Major, and Lt. Col. 3rd NY Reg. Light Artillery. Was in many battles. Died October 31, 1883, a believer in the bible, in God, and in his Son, Jesus Christ, and hopes to live again."
