Josiah Kenniston & Lydia Cook c. 1820 VT
I am researching the family of Josiah Kenniston who married Lydia Cook.Lydia was b. 10/1809 in Windham Co., VT, d/o Ziba Cook and Lydia Thomas.
The Cooks moved to Upper Canada before/during the AWI and a number of Lydia's siblings married in Prince Edward Co., Ontario. From Canada, the family migrated en masse through Oswego Co., NY to SW Michigan, Berrien/Cass Counties.
In a depostion given 9/1896, by Harmon T. Gifford (of Dowagiac, Cass Co., MI), Josiah Kenniston/Kinneston (Dec'd) had a grown daughter, Almina L. Connor (married to ?? Connor) living NW of Dailey, in Cass Co., MI.Almina L. Connor also deposed the same day giving Dailey as her postal address.
I have a date of death for Lydia Cook Kenniston as 9/7/1848 in Howard Township, Cass Co., MI, but nothing for Josiah.
I am interested in learning Josiah's ancestry ... I'm thinking he may have come from VT also.I don't know where Josiah & Lydia married ... VT or Canada?
If anyone has information about this family group, please contact me.Thanks in advance!
