Charles(1749-1807) was a Lloyds member and underwriter. He and his brother John (my ancestor through his youngest son Henry (1778-1817) who owned the Kensington Bank in Lombard St must have been quite a team!
Charles in his will left a plantation complete with slaves in Tobago. I believe there may be some black skinned Kensingtons out there. Please leave a message as I'd love to know. My sister when holidaying in Trinidad years ago spoke to an aged Miss Kensington but she never followed it up.
Their Grandfather was Edward (bp 1672 Salisbury), m. Eliz. Earlsman 1700 St Mary le Strand, London. His Father Edward (bp 1643 Salisbury) m. Eliz Jeffrey 1670, was a coachmaker (Free Citizen 1672). His Father was Edward (1618-1681) m. Dorothy then Bridget. His parents were John (1565-1627) and Myhill. I have found earlier Kensingtons but haven't yet proved a link.
